In 1989, in São Paulo’s northern region, Marcílio Alfano and his wife, Márcia, fulfilled a long-standing dream: starting their own business. Passionate about good food, Marcílio put into practice what he had learned from his father, Michele Alfano, founding MGA.
Initially, MGA sold domestic products for the Food Service industry, but in 1995, the company transformed into an importer, creating its own brand inspired by the family’s hometown. And so, di Salerno was born, with the purpose of offering innovative, high-quality products with integrity.
The first imported items were Anchovy Fillet and Artichoke, with initial partnerships in Argentina and Chile. Seeing the positive impact of its products, MGA expanded its portfolio, opened a branch in Salvador, and grew its operations to serve customers nationwide. In 2008, the company moved its headquarters to Alphaville | Tamboré (SP), in a 4,200 m² facility.
Today, di Salerno proudly partners with countries such as Italy, Spain, Turkey, Argentina, Ecuador, and China, offering a range of more than 200 premium products. The company has also expanded its product industrialization processes.
With pride in its family heritage, the involvement of the Alfano family has grown within the company. Today, the second generation — Marcílio and Márcia’s daughters, Taruana and Tainã Alfano — are also leading di Salerno. After all, it’s from our family to yours!
